This policy explains what personal information Candid Intelligence, Inc. ("Candid", "we", "us") collects through this website, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. If anything is unclear, email us and a person will answer.
Who we are
Candid Intelligence, Inc. is the controller of the personal information described here. We are based in Houston, Texas and San Francisco, California. Contact: info@candidintelligence.com.
What we collect
What you give us. When you request a demo: your first and last name, work email, the project milestones you select, and anything you write in the "Anything else" box. We derive your company name from your email domain. Name, email and at least one milestone are needed so we can respond; everything else is optional. If you email us, we receive whatever your email contains.
What is collected automatically. Our website host and service providers receive standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, referring page, and the date and time. These system logs are used to run, secure and troubleshoot the site. With a demo request we also record which page it came from.
Cookies and tracking. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, web beacons or cross-site tracking. The site stores one setting in your own browser, your light or dark theme choice, and it never leaves your device. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy first.
Project information. Site details, cost data and other project information you share with us during an engagement is confidential and governed by our NDA and contract with you, not by this policy.
How we use it
To respond to your request and schedule a conversation; to prepare for and follow up on that conversation; to send you occasional updates about our services, which you can stop at any time by replying or emailing us; to understand interest in our work; to keep the site secure and working; and to comply with the law and protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use information submitted through this website to train AI models.
Who we share it with
Service providers who process it on our behalf and only for the purposes above: Google Workspace (email, and the spreadsheet where demo requests are logged), our website hosting provider, and Google Fonts (which delivers the site's typefaces and receives your IP address to do so).
Legal and safety. When we believe in good faith it is required to comply with a law, court order or valid request from a public authority; to protect the rights, property or safety of Candid, our clients or the public; or to investigate misuse of the site.
Business transfers. If Candid is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of it. We will give notice before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent, for any other purpose you agree to.
How long we keep it
Demo requests and related correspondence are kept while we have an active or potential business relationship with you, and deleted within two years of our last contact unless you ask us to delete them sooner. System logs are kept for a short period by our providers. We may keep information longer only where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.
Where it is processed
We and our service providers process information in the United States. If you are outside the US, your information will be transferred here, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for those transfers.
Security
Access to personal information is limited to the people who need it. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and an independent auditor has reviewed our security controls (SOC 2 Type I). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it as the law requires.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Email info@candidintelligence.com. We may need to verify your identity first. Requests are free, and we answer within 30 days (45 where state law allows).
US residents. Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Virginia or Texas) you have the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale, sharing for targeted advertising, or profiling. We do none of those, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you can still contact us. You may use an authorized agent, and we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
EU, EEA and UK residents. We process your information on the basis of your consent (when you submit the form), to take steps at your request before entering a contract, for our legitimate interest in responding to and following up with business contacts, and to meet legal obligations. In addition to the rights above, you can restrict or object to our processing, object at any time to direct marketing, receive your data in a portable format, withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is for business users and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
This site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please review their policies.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also make it prominent on the site, and where we rely on your consent we will ask for it again.
